Amazing Love Health Services, LLC (ALHS) celebrates National Cardiac Rehabilitation Week from February 11-17, 2018, and draws attention to the role of cardiac rehabilitation in reducing the devastating effects of heart disease. The week is also a great opportunity to honor the dedication of Cardiac Rehabilitation professionals to improving lives and encourage cardiac patients by sharing valuable educational resources.
Cardiac rehabilitation also called cardiac rehab, is a medically supervised program designed to improve the cardiovascular health of people who have experienced a heart attack, heart failure, heart surgery, angioplasty, or heart transplant. It is an important step in the recovery from heart disease which involves exercise training, lifestyle modifications, behavior and dietary changes, education, emotional support, and pharmacological therapy. It can help improve the participant’s health and enable him/her to live a more active life. It can also help him/her to return to work safely and in a timely manner.
Cardiac rehab can begin while you’re still in the hospital and continue with monitored programs that are provided in an outpatient clinic or in a hospital rehab center and last for about three months. Cardiac rehab programs include individualized plans to help each participant regain strength, reduce symptoms, avoid worsening of the condition, reduce their risk of heart problems, and improve their quality of life.
Cardiac rehab reduces cardiac mortality by 31%.
One goal of the National Cardiac Rehab week is to increase cardiac rehab participation. Join ALHS in spreading the word and make an impact in saving lives one heart at a time!
