Scarcella is Chair of International Medical Graduates of the Washington Psychiatric Society (District Branch of the APA), for which she is the founder of the Embassy Disaster Preparedness. She is the President of the Washington Society for Jungian Psychology (JSW). She is a Designated Physician of the Embassy of Italy. She has also been twice the President of American Society of Psychoanalytic Physicians (ASPP, Washington, DC chapter and for years, and she has been for years a Board member of the Consortium for Psychoanalytic Research. Dr. E. Scarcella worked for years at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Washington, DC, and then at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Dr. E. Scarcella has been in private practice from 1991 and has been working with ALHC from august 2015. She has served in the Army Reserves Medical Corps, where she retired with the rank of Major. She is a Rotary member of International Rotary Club of Washington, DC for many years and has received the high honor of Cavaliere Della Republica of Italy.
